United Methodist Women

The Dwight United Methodist Women (UMW) is a group open to all women who wish to join and be a part of the global UMW – the world’s largest denominational faith-based organization for women. In practice, the UMW is a wonderful group of women dedicated wholeheartedly to experiencing God by helping wherever help is needed.

Their purpose and mission is four-fold:

To be a community of women
To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ
To develop a creative supportive fellowship
To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

Our local UMW unit organizes a church-wide prayer chain, cares for altar flowers and funeral dinners, and generously supports various mission projects that benefit our region, conference and world.
